CHATEAU FARIZEAU
CHATEAU FARIZEAU
“Over a couple generations, Farizeau moved towards organic practices in the vineyard and cellar, capturing Bordeaux terroir with clarity and complexity.”
Domaine Overview
Year Founded: 1980
Winemaker: The Moreau family
Location: Sadirac, Bordeaux
Size: 12 hectares
Grapes: Cabernet Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, Muscadelle
Farming: Certified organic, practicing biodynamic
In 1911, Maxime Moreau, son of coopers and cellar masters, purchased a small vineyard just outside of the town of Bordeaux, marking his family’s first venture into tending to the grapes themselves. Since then, his son Andre and grandson Guillaume established and built Chateau Farizeau, a certified organic operation dedicated to expressing the region's blue clay and sandy gravel soils.
Native yeast power the fermentations, and the family’s developed a method for curbing oxidation by waiting to move wines until the following spring.
The Wines

Bordeaux Rouge
Elegant red fruit and spice feel so cozy and familiar. This perfect blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc is macerated for 15 days, then fermented in stainless steel with native yeasts.

Entre-Deux-Mers
The house white blend, exhibiting expert finesse between fruit, texture, and finish. 60% Sauvignon Blanc, 30% Sémillon, 10% Muscadelle macerated 1 day before fermentation with native yeasts. Spends one winter in stainless steel for maturation.

Côtes de Bordeaux Rouge Cuvée Max
It’s Max’s wine. Cabernet Sauvignon from Sadirac is macerated for 12 days before native yeast fermentation. Like Farizeau’s white blend, Cuvé eMax also ages the course of one winter. Richly and deeply enveloping.
